make tabs better

option to get rid of the X close button, don't need to ever see it have it wasting extra width space, when using a mouse with mmb that does the same thing .

would be great if it were possible to drag and drop a folder on the sourcegit and if .git is there it just auto adds it as a new tab..

I absolutely hate scrolling tabbars, mousewheel when over the tabbar should be cycling project tabs, not scrolling the bar, the bar should never be scrollable, it just means the ui has failed to condesed the tabs to squeeze them all onto the tabbar or there is no support for 2nd bar... personally I'd rather tabs are squeezed smaller, the icon colors and reduced padding, along with getting rid of X button all help

the other thing is the [Tabs] button.. yes this is useful, no having it show a modal window half way across the screen and not directly next to the [Tabs] button as drop down makes zero sense

the view itself could be more useful like showing the last commit time ( or as 1day ago, 53days ago etc) kinda gives a better over view of the projects and when things were last updated.. just a thought.

Please reduce the amount wasted tab space.. I need [Icon Project name X ] even without fixed tab width its not great.

and only able to fit and see about 10 projects on the tabbar while my browser (firefox with tabmixplus (for inspiration) could fit more than that in the same amount of space all with icons/color and enough title text to know what the tab is) without tab scrolling (could remove 2 icons just getting rid of that option aswel)

Some laptops do not have a middle mouse button keymap with trackpad.

When this is the first time that some people try to use SourceGit, they may want to add all repos one-by-one. It's too noisy to directly open each repo in a new tab, because they need to open another welcome page to drop a new folder. So, when you drop a repository folder on welcome page, SourceGit only add it to repository list.

You can search the previous issues. Some users even want to display more information on the tab bar, such as the current branch, status, number of changes, etc. Turning off Use fixed tab width is not just used to save space, for some user, this is the way to show the entire repository name when it is too long.

And I do not know why that lots of people never use bookmarks. But I respected.

I add this button just want users to know we have this feature. But I suggest to use Ctrl+P instead of clicking it. In fact, this button is completely unnecessary. Just like in VSCode, there is no physical button to trigger the Ctrl+P function.

I dunno anyone who does actual work using a trackpad, nevertheless it should be optional to remove it for those that don't

ctrl+p was never a good shortcut combo, if you're right hand is using a mouse, and left hand is near left side of the keybaord ctrl+p is border line retarded which is probably why M$ did it, because vscode without extension is garbage, only reason I use it, is for the extensions and ctrl+p is still something I absolutely hate about it, both hands need to be on the keyboard workflow.

Tabs.. even ctrl + t would make more sense, currently ctrl+t opens [Repositories] tab.. makes zero sense to me.. ctrl+r. does [Clone remote repo] ..and ctrl + c ... yeh nothing in that context... anyway well I'm not for every combo key having to use the letter of what it does, I am against shortcut keys on the other side of keyboard for no reason other no idea.

I get different use cases.. though if people want an entire tab to show that much information I wouldn't be surprised if they just use sourcegit portable per repo... but if you're reusing sourcegit to handle lots of repos it makes zero sense I just want quick accessibility of of all projects on the tabbar even if they end up as icon would barely any readable text, the color coding and icon is enough for muscle memory.
